The Skete of Saint Anne, Major

It is the largest and oldest skete and was built in the 14th century. It belongs to the Holy Monastery of Great Lavra. It has a remarkable library with 200 manuscripts. The librarian of the skete is Monk Gerasimos Mikragiannanitis, Hymnographer of the Great Church of Christ. Numerous saints, martyrs and saints have lived ascetically here.
