Saint Demetrios is the patron saint of Thessaloniki. In this hagiography is illustrated in the form of the military saint and is characterized spindly with an elaborate and soft molding.

In this hagiography that was created by monks-hagiographers who live at the cell of Saint Makarii on Mount Athos, St. Demetrios is depicted frontally with a halo at a gold background while holding a spear with his right hand and a sword and a shield with his left one.
He is carrying a metallic shield and he is wearing a deep red envelope. Moreover he is dressed in a bluish tunic. The form of the military saint is characterized spindly with an elaborate and soft molding.
On top of the brown proplasmos, the sarcomas are spread smoothly at various levels of bright colors, so as for the oblong face of the depicted saint to look as bright and sensitive as possible while generally it is molded without abrupt level changes.
