The hagiography is related to the prophecy of St. Simeon the God-Receiver which was registered by Luke the Evangelist: and her soul was pierced by a sword. It refers to pain that Virgin Mary felt at the time of separation from her beloved Son, when in front of her own eyes, they crucified Him.

The hagiography that is known as «the prophecy of Simeon the Righteous» is celebrated on August 13.

It has been crafted in the hagiography workshop of father Pefkis, former student of the Athonite Academy on Mount Athos and one of the most famous hagiographers in Greece.
