Description

Lithography with Saint Jacob Tsalikis

A lithography with the representation of Saint Iakovos Tsalikis who was born in 1920 in Livisi, Asia Minor. He wanted to go to a monastery in the Holy Land, but first went to a local monastery dedicated to Saint David to pray about it. On the way Saint David himself appeared to him and invited him to stay in his monastery. According to tradition Saint David was like his own spiritual father, appearing to him on many occasions. His asceticism was astonishing. He ate very little and he slept on the ground, for two hours. The whole night was devoted to prayer. Regarding his struggle, he used to say: «I do nothing. Whatever I do, it’s God doing it. Saint David brings me up to the mark for it».
