Description
Lithography with Virgin Mary Rose The Amaranth
A beautiful lithography with the rare representation of Virgin Mary the Amaranth. The prototype was found by a fisherman among the rocks at the beach of Piraeus. That icon had the representation of Virgin Mary holding a rose and Jesus Christ was depicted not as a baby but as a child. When that story was heard at the region of Piraeus a family decided to built a small private church that would be dedicated to the icon of Virgin Mary Rose the Amaranth which means «the rose that does not wither». Years later the people at that place decided to built a bigger church because of the great number of the Christians that were coming there to see and worship Virgin Mary.
