Marjoram to improve digestion and nausea

According the legend goddess Aphrodite made Marjoram as a symbol for happiness. This herb is very beneficial for the human body because it contains vitamins A, B3, B6, C, D and K and iron, potassium, copper, phosphorus, zinc and calcium. It has digestive benefits and calming properties.

Marjoram: Properties

Marjoram contains vitamin A and C, calcium and iron. It has digestive benefits such as increasing the efficiency of digestion by increasing digestive enzymes and saliva, calming the stomach and digestive system, improving appetite, relieving nausea, eliminating flatulence, soothing painful stomach cramps or spasms, relieving diarrhea and constipation. Marjoram is a great antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral agent. Marjoram is also an anti-inflammatory herb and it helps relieving a variety of problems caused by inflammation, including asthma, muscle spasms, sinus headaches, migraines, fever and body aches. It also has antidepressant qualities and because of that it helps relieving insomnia, reducing stress, calming anxiety, and minimizing emotional reactions.


Add a tablespoon of the herb in a pot and then put inside boiled water. Leave it for about five – ten minutes and then strain it. If you want to add a bit of sweetness to your tea, try adding a small spoonful of honey.
