Sea fennel grows along the beautiful coastline of Mount Athos. The monks of the Xenophontos Monastery collect it carefully and make wonderful pickle of it. Sea fennel can be used in all kinds of salads and it can be combined beautifully with tomato and boiled potato.
The pickled sea fennel is one of the finest monastery products.

Pickle sea fennel is one of the most delicious products of Mount Athos and its nutritional value is particularly high. It  provides the body with a great number of nutritional benefits and it is worth mentioning that in the past sailors used to carry sea fennel on their journeys as an antidote for scurvy.
