Lithography with Saint Paisios

A beautiful lithography with Saint Paisios the Hagiorite who was widely known for his life and asceticism. After his death the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew began his holy process and was ranked Paisios Saint of the Orthodox Church by the Ecumenical Patriarchate on January 13, 2015. The Church celebrates his memory on July 12th.

Saint Paisios lived in the last years of his life in the cell of Panagouda, which he found abandoned. There he worked hard with a crowd of people who visited him by offering spiritual help with his prayers and teachings. At the same time, he continued his intense ascetic life to the point where he would rest a little every day. But he continued to accept and try to help the visitors. He also used to make «stamped» icons as a handiwork which he gave visitors as a blessing.
