In the introductory text of the book published by the Sacred Retreat “Evangelist John the Theologian” (Souroti Thessaloniki) the Greek text of the official Patriarchal act of canonization of St. Paisius is included.
Mount Athos was and still is a Holy place of spiritual struggles, exercise repentance and prayer as well as a workshop of holiness. Successor of this long tradition of holiness and offer was Saint Paisios who came from Cappadocia and lived most of his life on the Garden of the Virgin Mary.
The fraternity of the Monastery proceeded to the publication of the Life of Saint Paisios of Mount Athos who guided and led the Monastery for 28 years. These facts come from direct conversations with the Saint as well as with the help of his letters to the monastery and each nun separately as well as with the help of the numerous testimonials – written and oral – that were entrusted to the nuns by people who personally knew the Saint and with the help of the fieldwork conducted in the places that the Saint lived and fought.
The book was published in June 2015 and is already popular in Greece and abroad. It is available via the product exhibition of Mount Athos and other Greek Orthodox Monasteries.
