The most beloved person of the Orthodoxy after the three persons of the Holy Trinity is Virgin Mary. The beloved form of the Mother of God has taken its final form in our iconographic tradition. The face of Virgin Mary is calm and serious and has rare nobility, which stems from the characteristic simplicity of the form. Its main features are very delicate and harmonious. The eyes are large and almond-shaped, the nose is thin and straight and the mouth is small and restrained. The hair cannot be seen.

The whole form of Virgin Mary Ierosolymitissa is full of symbolisms and doctrinal teachings. The large eyes see through the heart, the slim nose shows true nobility and freedom from the stench of the world. Her beauty is timeless because it is spiritual.

This copy of the miraculous icon has been crafted by Father Pefkis, who has studied the sacred art of iconography on Mount Athos. It is a collectable work of art as the hagiographer has applied the aging technique.

The Hagiography has a stamp of authenticity on the back of icon, with the signature of the creator.
