Saint Nicholas Cell – Holy Monastery of Vatopedi
The Holy Cell of Saint Nicholas which belongs to the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi and is located at Karyes of Mt Athos has a long and continuous presence in the garden of Virgin Mary.
The first written records concerning the Cell date back to the 15th century and from then till now, the series of events is continuous. The cell celebrates on June 6, the day of the translation of the relics of St. Nicholas, while many priests and monks attend the ritual along with dozens of pilgrims from different parts of the world. In the beautiful Cell of St. Nicholas, hieromonk Spyridon lives along with escort, monks who manufacture high quality monastic products (beeswax creams, therapeutic soaps, herbal extracts and many more).
All products are available via the Mount Athos product exhibition while the revenues are used for the renovation of the Holy Cell.
