Bracelet with Christogram
This bracelet is a genuine monastery handiwork. At the middle there is the Christogram ΙϹ ΧϹ which is a traditional abbreviation of the Greek words for «Jesus Christ». At the cross there is the phrase «IC XC NIKA» which means «Jesus Christ Conquers». The Christogram and the above phrase there are very often written on icons, amulets or other handiworks. Tradition says that the origins of prayer ropes and worry beads began with saint Pahomios.
Handiwork from monks
Every monk takes over a specific task which accompanies them at their monastic living. The most common occupation of monks are their handiworks. Following tradition of many years ago monks make these handiworks with care and love knowing that these bracelets are worn as amulets by Christians. This bracelet is a new addition at handiworks that are available at Product Exhibition of Mount Athos and is available in five different colours so you can choose the one you like better. All the incomes from the sales of these handicrafts are used for the maintenance or renovation of monasteries.
