St. John’s Wort Oil: Properties
Wort Oil is recognized since antiquity up to date for its many beneficial properties. It is made of safflower which is one of the most important flowers of Greek fauna. It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent and healing properties. It is recommended for the healing of wounds, bruises and first degree burns.
It helps significantly in the treatment of rheumatic pains and joint pains as well as sciatica. It also contributes to the treatment of stomach upset, gastroenteritis, mild ulcer and stomach pains.
In the US, it is used as an alternative sedative as it has antidepressant properties. In Germany it is used to treat insomnia and melancholy.
St. John’s Wort Oil: Use
It is used for spraying or light rubbing on the part that hurts. We can even impregnate a gauze with St. John’s Wort Oil and apply local patches. It is excellent for relaxing or therapeutic massage.
It can also be used as drinking. It is recommended to be drunk in cases of colitis, painful digestion and other stomach upsets. If added to beeswax cream, it is particularly effective in flooding.
St. John’s Wort Oil: Dosage
For stomach problems, it is recommended to drink one tablespoon each morning or, alternatively, a teaspoon in the morning before breakfast and one in the evening before bedtime for a couple of weeks.
For spreads: We clean the area where the problem exists. Then spread with a good amount of St. John’s Wort Oil and leave it for half an hour to absorb. It is used daily, two to three times a day, until the problem is eliminated.
St. John’s Wort Oil should not be used without doctor’s advice, especially from people with hypertension.
